0- INTRO - Colrain - Covered Bridges

See Top Bar above for more on each Bridge
Once upon a time there were at least 12 covered bridges in Colrain Massachusetts, a very high number for a New England town. . Now only one survives. Some sources suggest 14 or more bridges?   Could this be?   The map below shows 12 bridge locations on the West Branch and the main course of the North River. Are there more pictures?
****  Please add a comment below, or send an email to Dave:  daven@sover.net.  Please use a bridge number and bridge name when you write , such as "2 Elm Grove" ....don't say "the bridge that went to the Jones Place"... Thanks ****

Numbers are assigned by Jonathan Lagreze of Colrain who has researched the bridges and contributed photos and narratives to this site.  The numbers will help organizing the pictures and facts as we collect them this winter.  The goal is to get as many pictures as we can as well as facts about the various bridges.

Above are 2 pictures of the sole surviving covered bridge in Colrain  To see these and other pictures enlarged select the "5  Arthur Smith"  page on the Top Bar..
