7 Fox Bridge
This bridge was named because was near the old Fox Tavern in Shattuckville . It was damaged by flood waters in 1878, the bridge was abandoned. Later, it was moved to Lyonsville and became bridge #5
In 1895 or 1896, the
open bridge at Lyonsville collapsed under the weight of a herd of cattle
being driven across by Arthur Smith’s hired hand. The town fathers
decided to move the abandoned Fox Bridge to the site. The pieces were
numbered and the bridge dismantled, moved and re-erected at the new
site.
